Below we go into a bit more depth about why we started and where we are headed, but the core of it is simple. We love dogs, we know how unique they are and we want to give Australians an affordable solution to keep them safe.

My name is Cameron and I’m the founder of Pup ID. I’ve always believed that dogs have as much personality and preference as any human. My best mate, Scar, who sadly passed away in 2024, was proof of that. He was one of a kind, full of unique personality and character, and I couldn’t bear the thought of him ever being treated like “just another dog”, because I knew he wasn’t.

Scar was an escape artist. Although small, he was a tough little bugger with more wit than sense. Every weekend he would find a new way out, and I would spend my days patching the holes he dug under our fence.

I wanted a way to keep him safe, something that could update me on his whereabouts and speak for his unique personality if he ever got out or when he was cared for by family. All I could find were expensive, bulky GPS collars that needed charging every other day, which I could neither afford nor wanted for Scar.

I never found a solution while he was with me, but his unique character inspired me to create one. Pup ID was built in Scar’s memory, which is why our logo resembles him. Pup ID is a simple, affordable, and genuine way to protect every Aussie dog that is as special as Scar was.
