Found A Lost Dog?
Follow these steps to connect with the dog’s guardian and launch a rapid reunion using their Pup ID tag.
Safety First... Then Scan.
Stay mindful and vigilant. Before approaching, ensure the environment is safe for both you and the dog. Check for oncoming traffic, broken glass, or other hazards.
Observe the dog’s behavior. If the dog appears aggressive, injured, or overly distressed, do not attempt to grab the tag. Your safety is the priority. Pup ID never recommends you put yourself in harm during a rescue. Only when it is completely safe to do so, use your phone to scan the Pup ID QR code or tap the NFC chip with your phone on the logo facing side of the tag.
Connect with the Guardian
Share Your Location. Upon scanning, your phone will request GPS access. Select "Allow" to instantly send the guardian a pinpoint map of your location. If declined, the guardian will receive a scan notification, but without precise coordinates to guide them to you.
Access the Contact Tab. Tap the Contact section to open the primary communication hub. Call or message the dog's listed emergency contacts directly with a single click.
Initiate the Reunion. If you cannot reach the guardian immediately, tap the Reunite section to view the dog's home address and preferred vet details. You can drop the dog off safely at their designated vet clinic or transport them directly to their home address.
Provide Immediate Care
Understand the pup in your care. Open the Profile tab and explore the dropdowns to learn who the dog is. Understanding their personality and habits is the fastest way to build trust and keep them calm.
Check Critical Health Data. Open the Medical and Behaviour sections immediately. These contain vital details regarding life-threatening allergies, active medical conditions, or specific triggers that cause distress.
Ensure Maximum Comfort. If the reunion is still in progress, review the Feeding & Grooming section. Respecting their daily routine keeps the dog relaxed, safe, and comfortable until their family arrives.
